CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 13-year-old Cleveland girl is the first flu-related pediatric death in Northeast Ohio, the Cleveland Department of Public Health announced today. It is the second pediatric flu-related death in Ohio this flu season, after the death of a 3-year-old boy from Highland County in Southwest Ohio was reported earlier this month. An East Cleveland woman, 94, was the sixth flu death reported in Cuyahoga County this season. Influenza can be deadly for the young and the elderly.
